Welcome to the Microfinance Hub - supporting the wider microfinance network in New Zealand with resources.

The Microfinance Hub has a range of resources about topics that may be of useful to people working in, or interested in, microfinance in New Zealand. Good Shepherd NZ also hosts Microfinance Network Days every second year for people working in the wider microfinance community and other stakeholders to get together and share ideas.

Snapshot: Aviva NILS Pilot Evaluation (December 2015)

An overview of the evaluation of the Aviva (formerly Christchurch Women’s Refuge) and Good Shepherd New Zealand NILS (No Interest Loan Scheme) pilot programme, which ran from February 2014 to February 2015. The evaluation provides some interesting insights into the market and client group for a no-interest, reasonably low-value consumer loan in New Zealand. 

 Starting a Microfinance Organisation in New Zealand (June 2014)

This resource was developed by the Auckland Microfinance Initiative and Kiwibank for organisations wanting to deliver microfinance loans. It was produced in response to a need identified at the New Zealand Microfinance Network Workshop hosted by Good Shepherd New Zealand in March 2014.
