Ally was born and raised in Rotorua. She is part of a strong Te Arawa extended whānau. Both her language and her tikanga are important to her. Ally has strived for the achievement of young Māori women for over 50 years. She is committed to nurturing partnerships that reduce inequity for women and girls.
Ally has over 20 years of governance experience in the education sector. She has been a secondary school principal in four schools, including two Catholic girls’ schools. Ally was principal at Rotorua Girls’ High School when it was awarded the Prime Minister’s Education Excellence in Governing / Te Awatea Award.
Ally brings to Good Shepherd her experience in delivering strongly to a faith-based mission.
